WHO WE ARE:

Columbus Humane is a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization in Columbus, Ohio serving more than 20,000 animals in our community a year. We have been advancing animal welfare in central Ohio since 1883. Columbus Humane serves as the lead law enforcement agency investigating animal cruelty, abuse, and neglect in Franklin County. Make no mistake, we are more than just a shelter-we are a progressive animal welfare organization tackling big, community-wide challenges to make the biggest impact for most animals and people. We have staff in three locations including our animal shelter in Hilliard. We strive to provide strong support to the central Ohio community through innovative programming such as our Animal Support Center, Essential Care Center, Safe Haven, Rescue Clinic, Community Cat Initiative (TNR), and more. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Columbus Humane seeks a marketing professional with a passion for our mission and vision by supporting Columbus Humane's annual communications, marketing strategy and community events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Marketing Coordinator will support the Director of Marketing in areas of marketing, communications, and digital content including:

Assist in planning, implementing, and managing all print and digital marketing/communications campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and brand standards.

Support oversight of all social media channels by creating engaging content, responding to comments or questions, and collaborating with the Director of Marketing.

Assist in providing graphic design support for various Columbus Humane departments.

Assist in managing photo/video libraries and coordinating procurement of promotional items.

Assist the Senior Development Manager, Director of Development, and Director of Marketing on fundraising efforts and foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization, including supporting and attending community events.

Support web-related tasks, including updating content on the website and overseeing Google grants and Google ads administration in conjunction with web management.

Provide support to the internal team on animal adoption/promotion events, including logistical coordination and content creation.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing to support the overall marketing and communications efforts of Columbus Humane.

Requirements

MUST HAVE'S (Qualifications):

Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 2 years marketing experience; or appropriate combination of education and related experience.

Demonstrated intellectual agility and the ability to think strategically; highly organized, detail-oriented, accurate and deadline driven.

Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles. Should have a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Must possess the ability to handle confidential information in a responsible, mature, and discreet manner; able to exercise good independent judgment including interfacing in person or on the phone with our community and/or donor base.

Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License and insurable driving record.

Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Ability to collaborate with a team for everything from daily tasks to solving challenging situations.

Must be willing to handle a variety of animals for content creation and attending community events

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Most work is performed in an animal shelter and/or veterinary clinic setting which can include exposure to hazardous chemicals and potential exposure to parasites and infectious diseases that can be carried and transmitted by animals.
