The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Project Analyst (Aircraft Controlling Custodian)-Journeyman to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. This position is eligible for hybrid work.

Position Background:

The Aircraft Controlling Custodian Program Office supports the development and operations of the range/airborne instrumentation systems and test facilities for Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) of aircraft and aircraft weapons systems in support of major engineering development and acquisition programs. The Aircraft Controlling Custodian office oversees aircraft and equipment involved in test and evaluation, along with pre-accepted aircraft in the acquisition pipeline in support of Fleet requirements.

A typical day as a Project Analyst (Aircraft Controlling Custodian)-Journeyman may include:
  • Develops metrics and assists in the management of NAVAIR
  • Tests aircraft and provides analytical support
  • Performs technical duties as necessary to support the ACC Program Office
  • Provides guidance and technical assistance to military class desks and activities in implementing/following policies/programs in support of aircraft
  • Prepares written executive correspondence in support of the Command relative to the functions of the ACC Program Office such as Flight Authorizations, Naval Aviation Survival Training Program (NASTP) waiver requests and Field Naval Aviator Evaluation Board (FNAEB) requests


Must-haves:
  • BS Degree
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of management and organizational development principles/practices
  • Comprehensive knowledge of analytical and investigative techniques
  • The ability to perform complex analysis involving manpower and organizational issues
  • Knowledge of the FAR, small contracts, GSA and centrally billed purchase card policies
  • Experience ensuring proper expenditure of appropriated funds
  • The ability to maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance)-Secret Clearance required to start


Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of the substantive programs of the ACC Program Office and staff as they relate to the administrative/analytical functions
  • Foundation of administrative concepts and practices
  • The ability to recommend change in administrative policies, devise, install procedures and office practices affecting staff
  • The ability to foresee administrative problems/requirements

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site.
