The mission of the Department of Energy (DOE), Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) is to help federal agencies manage their energy use and meet energy goals. Congress authorized federal agencies to supplement their appropriations with grant funding to achieve their energy and water management goals. Grant funding is distributed under the Assisting Federal Facilities with Energy Conservation Technologies (AFFECT) program.

AFFECT provides grants for the development of energy and water efficiency projects and processes at U.S. federal government-owned facilities. The AFFECT program is managed by DOE FEMP and provides funding to federal agencies to help meet energy- and water-related goals by identifying affordable solutions, facilitating public-private collaborations, and leveraging best practices to promote energy leadership. The AFFECT opportunity is for federal agencies that would use the funding to make energy and water efficiency upgrades to new and existing federal buildings and help them achieve net-zero through initiatives like efficiency and conservation improvements, electrification, on-site clean energy generation, and sustainable design.

Position Description:You will help support FEMP to drive agencies' facilities and fleets to conserve energy and water, meet ambitious Administration targets, and achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. The contractor support is for the AFFECT Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Appropriations teams. Support is for grant applications tracking, documenting, program outreach, engagement, and training efforts to increase the quality and quantity of AFFECT and other grant program applications and yearlong engagement. You will be asked to review applications and assign comments and/or score and enter into the DOE FEMP system for grant application tracking and reporting. You will support event management; attend meetings, handle scheduling and logistics. Support will include documenting FEMP procedures and processes, drafting and creating reports, presentations, and other informational materials, e.g., fact sheets, and stakeholder correspondence. You will be asked to provide quality assurance on all aspects of the program support therefore, being detail oriented is a must.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have bachelor's degree in communications, business, marketing, or grant funding administration, etc. and have up to 5 years of post-college experience. The candidate will have the following understanding, experiences, and abilities:Demonstrated interest in energy efficiency, renewable energy.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.Research and gather information.Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented.Data entry and data quality.Work in a team environment, typically consisting of seasoned federal energy managers, users of third-party financing users and engineers.Critical thinking, e.g., reasoned, and clear judgment.Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.Pay range is $70-100 depending on academic background and years of experience.Must be US citizen.Successful drug screening.Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Location/Work Arrangement:This position is located in Washington, DC, and is a Hybrid Work Arrangement.

Starting compensation for this role typically salary ranges between $70,000 and $100,000 annually and is commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
