Job Description - Systems Admin
Gridiron IT is seeking a Systems Admin to work onsite in Chantilly, VA. Must have an active TS/SCI CI Polygraph. What you'll get to do:
Administrator of Linux servers and MySQL database servers in an AWS cloud environment. Administrator of cloud environments AWS/Azure and usage of cloud services.
Linux System Administrator working with a focused and fun team to engineer, build, deploy, and maintain multiple environments for the purpose of development, testing, and production hosting of custom enterprise business applications on behalf of a Government customer.
Contribute to application and database migration activities.
Develop scripts for automation of build-out, maintenance, and configuration of virtualized systems.
Deployment of updates, IAVA patches, and Anti-Virus updates.
Troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and communications problems.
Maintains web application hosting systems to include web servers, database servers, and associated development systems (e.g. Team Foundation Server)
Maintains system reliability and uptime of production applications by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
Contributes to system configuration management in accordance with contract inventory and customer requirements.
Create, update, and maintain technical documentation including process diagrams, standard operating procedures, and system documentation. You'll bring these qualifications:
Experience with infrastructure troubleshooting, to include direct interaction with vendors and service providers.
Experience patching and updating Linux server operating systems and configuring Linux server network integration.
Experience in the design, implementation, procurement, tradecraft, or maintenance of various layers of network infrastructure.
Understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g. Red Hat, Centos, Ubuntu, Fedora, Scientific Linux, Debian, Amazon L2 etc.).
Ability to research the latest technological developments in relevant operating systems to identify impact and anticipate changes in the organization s operating environment.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Desire to enhance your abilities.
Experience Configuring and maintaining Linux servers.
Security+ or equivalent certification. (mandatory) These qualifications would be nice to have: Demonstrated experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) (C2S) systems administration.
Experience deploying AWS features (Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancer, CloudWatch, Lambda, Elastic Container Service).
Experience with scripting tools (PowerShell, JSON, BASH and PYTHON).
