We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security, with a focus on protecting critical systems and data from cyber threats. - Implement and maintain security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with industry best practices and government regulations.
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential weaknesses in systems and applications.
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies to proactively mitigate risks.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees on best practices for protecting sensitive information.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security requirements into system designs and implementations.
- Participate in incident response and recovery efforts as needed. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in cyber security roles, preferably in a government contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security technologies.
- Experience with security assessment tools such as Nessus, Metasploit, and Wireshark.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations such as NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and DoD RMF.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
