Serco supports the U.S. Navy as a prime for their Team Submarine contract supporting the acquisition of submarines. The Team Submarine concept unifies once diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.

Serco-NA is seeking a motivated individual to provide programmatic support to one of our NAVSEA customers. Serco-NA has an opening for a database (db) analyst with submarine experience to support an active contract with the U.S. Navy in the Washington, DC area.

MS Access db is used to support the commitments effort. Currently most electronic commitment documents that are being tracked are also held on a shared network drive. Three data entry personnel and one technical lead who manages the backup scheme; designs data fields; creates ad-hoc and defined reports exported to MS Excel and PDF.

In this role, you will:
  • Be the primary customer contact for Commitments Database.
  • Work with Team Sub staff to route incoming commitments and update/maintain data used for tracking status of open items.
  • Maintain database functionality and manage access required by 450T personnel.
  • Be the single point of contact on all contract management support related issues, including required reports and presentations responsible for quality control and timeliness.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • An active or current DoD Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • A Bachelor's level degree in a business or technical field.
  • Five to seven or more years experience in engineering/science management, operations research analysis, financial/cost analysis, or a relevant field.
  • The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.
Additional desired experience and skills:
  • An active NNPI account and CAC.
  • Knowledge of PMS450.
  • Knowledge of FBW SCS.
  • Experience with Access databases desired.
  • Seven or more years of experience with Navy acquisition and Submarine Programs.
  • Experience leading a project and interfacing with an end item customer.
  • Knowledge of Program Management, including the acquisition process, the budgeting process and Navy program execution.
  • Active-Duty Experience in the submarine service preferred.
  • Recent experience in Team Submarine would be ideal.
