Overview:

Focusing on the recruitment and admission efforts of prospective students and ultimately contributing to enrollment this position serves the Office of Undergraduate Admission, reporting to the dean. The Sr. Associate Dean will manage the day to day office operations, serve a direct supervisory role to several staff members and serve a larger role of overall staff management in the deans stead.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the senior most admission officer besides the dean and functioning as the admission offices chief of staff. Serve as the office lead in the Deans absence.
Support the Dean in the development and implementation of an undergraduate recruitment strategy and tactics.
Take a lead role in the development and implementation of regional recruitment activities, including the supervision of the Regional Associates(3-4). Act as a liaison for students, their parents, counselors, and other independent educational organizations in assigned geographic territory.

Oversea the hiring, onboarding and review process for the office on behalf of the Dean.
Accurately communicate the programs and educational opportunities available at Catholic University to prospective students, parents, and high school counselors.
Travel for the purposes of recruitment, professional conferences, and high school workshops on college admission.
Interview and counsel prospective students and maintain regular contact with prospects.
Review applications for all deadlines to evaluate a students academic and personal attributes and assess their ability to succeed at the University.
Conduct information sessions to increase visiting familys knowledge base and interest in the University.
Share basic financial aid information with families by means of fielding questions, offering suggestions, and clarifying merit and need-based information.
Work with administration and staff to develop understanding on the importance of diversity on campus and the challenges underrepresented students must navigate in the admission process and beyond.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Seven to ten years of experience in admission, higher education, or school-based college counseling, working with admission processes, and recruitment of students, or counseling students through the college search and selection process on the high school side.
  • Experience with a higher education CRM (TargetX or Slate preferred).
  • Must have strong customer service ethic and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and familiarity with working individually as well as in a team setting.
  • TargetX or Slate, Microsoft Office Access, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • PeopleSoft experience a plus.

  • Possession of current and valid U.S. drivers license appropriate to the type of university vehicle and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) as stipulated in the Vehicle Guidelines and Procedures Manual administered through the Office of Environmental Health and Safety.

  • Annual clearance of MVR check through the Office of Environmental Health and Safety.

  • Masters degree a plus.

  • Effective communications skills a must, broad understanding of marketing and social media helpful.

  • Must have strong customer service skills and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required.

  • The ability to drive a vehicle (on and off-campus) on behalf of university business.
