Position Summary and Duties

The Offices of International Programs and International Student Services at Loyola University, Maryland, are seeking an Assistant Director who will manage a portfolio of at least four study abroad programs as well as support incoming exchange students. This position will work directly with undergraduate students and serve as a resource for faculty, staff, and administrators. The Assistant Director will foster and maintain relationships with university departments, students, parents, and international partners. This position will also administer the exchange student application process of inbound exchange students and support Office of International Student Services (OISS) with orientation programming for exchange students.

Required Qualifications

Required qualifications and skills Bachelor's degree. At least one to three years related experience working in higher education in an advising capacity, preferably in international education or related field. Ability to positively engage and motivate students. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team and to work independently and confidentially Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills Detail oriented and strong organizational skills Ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse populations in diverse cultural contexts. Demonstrate ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment throughout the year. Ability to support the mission and values of a Catholic Jesuit education, as well as university goals for institutional diversity. Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (excel, Powerpoint, word, outlook, and teams) and Terra Dotta software. Must be willing and able to travel overseas at least once per year and work occasionally on evening and weekend events.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree or equivalent.- Experience working with study abroad programs and/or international student services.- Experience living or studying abroad.- Working knowledge of one or more foreign languages.
