Job Description:

The Department of Justice, Law and Criminology in the School of Public Affairs at American University invites applications for a term faculty appointment for Academic Year 2024-25. The appointment will be at the rank of Professorial Lecturer and is a 9-month term position. The position will commence on August 26, 2024.

Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant field (e.g. criminology, criminal justice, sociology, political science, or public policy). The position will require the incumbent to teach three courses per semester. All faculty are expected to hold office hours and participate in School and University activities and service.

The successful candidate will be able to teach courses across our majors in Justice, Law and Criminology. A full list of our course offerings is available here. Preference will be given for applicants who have a proven track record of successful teaching courses in this area.
