The Utility Construction Management Associate 2 ensures that third-party projects on, under, or above our clients' property meet or exceed the approved plan and agreement. Position identifies and escalates potential non-complaint items for resolution and develops relationships with the field personnel to ensure compliance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the observation of utility installations across railroad property
Perform on-site observation of trenchless construction within railroad right-of-way providing support for third-party on and around live railroad tracks
Responsible for documentation of pre- and post-construction site conditions, verification of materials and layout, observation and documentation of construction activities and maintain an active dialog with on and off-site personnel
Document work in accordance to approved plans
Attend both railroad (flagger) and contractor daily job briefings and discuss project requirements
Attend monthly training calls
Submit time and expenses
Submit daily inspection reports using a tablet that accurately depict what occurred on the work progress, adherence to the railroad utility agreement
Escalate items of non-compliance to management/engineers for review
Travel 100% of time
Other duties assigned or required to meet the business needs
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of AREMA standards
Knowledge of general construction practices
Proficiency with electronic communications including e-mail and text
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
5-7 years of railroad experience OR
7 - 12 years of progressive utility construction experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
High risk jobs (Large diameter installations, shoring near track, non-traditional projects)
Basic understanding of tablet operations
Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:
Valid driver's license is required
Ability to rent and operate a rental car through RailPros approved vendors
