Position Summary and Duties
Loyola University Maryland is seeking part-time certified Lifeguards for Summer (May-September) to lifeguard at our premiere Aquatic Center. Responsibilities and Essential Functions: - Maintain constant surveillance and visually scan assigned area of responsibility every 10 seconds. - Provide general information on pool operations to members. - Enforce pool rules and regulations. - Respond to all illness and injury incidents in natatorium and FAC. This includes, but not limited to, performing Lifeguarding skills, First Aid, and CPR until arrival of emergency medical services. - Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning. - Maintain a clean, safe and orderly pool, deck and Lifeguard Office. - Inspect facilities regularly and report any unsafe conditions/equipment to supervisor immediately. - Perform pool chemical checks at designated times. - Attend and participate in all Mandatory Staff Meetings and Trainings. - Complete cleaning tasks as assigned. - Communicate openly and regularly with supervisors and team members. - Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. - Excellent communication skill both verbally and in writing. - Ability to understand and abide by FAC's customer service standards and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Current Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications. Ability to swim and perform life saving procedures. Maintain personal physical endurance and agility necessary to perform job functions. Minimum of 16 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous lifeguarding experience in a professional environment
