Orthopedic Technician II (Outpatient Trauma Unit)

Full-Time - Day

We are looking for talented professionals to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

* Assist physicians during examination of orthopedic patients and assist in maintaining orthopedic equipment and supplies. Fulfillment of the job duties requires the employee to have access to medication storage areas.

About the Unit

The Shock Trauma Outpatient Pavilion (STOP) is a clinic designed to care for the Trauma patient once discharged from the inpatient setting. There are eight different Trauma services that see patients in this outpatient setting. This includes the Trauma teams A, B, and C, Trauma Vascular, Soft Tissue, Neuro Trauma, Plastic Surgery, and the Acute Care Emergency Surgery (ACES) service. The clinic also provides care to the Orthopedic Trauma population. There are seven Orthopedic Physicians and one Podiatrist staffed in conjunction with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to provide comprehensive follow-up.

Qualifications

* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

* Certification as an Orthopedic Technologist is required.

* 3 years of related experience is required.

* Completion of a training course in orthopedic technology plus one year of internship in orthopedics, or two and a half years experience as an aide in a medical facility, including two years experience assisting in orthopedics is required.
