Description:

This Special Education Teacher position designs instruction through daily lessons and implements effective individual and group strategies for students in the areas presented in the curriculum and aligned with the PA Core Standards and in accordance with student IEPs. Additionally, it provides the classroom staff with a schedule of assigned duties and responsibilities in the classroom and makes suggestions for them to further develop their skills in team planning, goal setting, recording and observing student behavior, achieving student goals, classroom management and communication strategies.

Qualifications:

Valid PA Special Education Certification: PK - 12 preferred, but 7 - 12 will be considered

Experience with students with special needs, preferred

Experience with behavior intervention and knowledge of de-escalation techniques, preferred

Terms: Full Time, 188 days

Salary: LIUEA Pay Scale (Bach. min $48,157; Mast. min $53,450), plus benefits*
