Minimum Annual or Hourly Rate $40,000 Salary Band: UC S03 Job Summary/Basic Function:

This position develops, executes, and manages programs and efforts that advance and support the outreach to and recruitment of highly qualified and diverse applicants to the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM). Additionally, this position will support the admissions process of applicants to BSOM.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience OR Master's degree and 1 year of experience (part-time employment counts toward work experience).

* Relevant work experience must be in one or more of the following areas: Higher Education, Admissions, Recruiting, Outreach, Communication, Program/Project Management, Customer Service, Administration or other related field.

* Experience working with diverse populations or customer service experience.

* Strong public speaking and excellent communication skills.

* Professional writing, document editing, and file management skills.

* Working knowledge of how to operate standard office equipment.

* Ability to learn a variety of computer database systems unique to a medical education environment.

* Reliable transportation is required due to travel.

Preferred Qualifications

* Familiarity with American Medical Colleges Application Service (AMCAS) or WebAdMIT Central Application Service.

* Experience working with any of the following: Wright State University; higher education admissions; professional students.

* Strong knowledge of health professions, student development, and academic programming.

* Experience with Apple Computers.

Essential Functions and percent of time:

45% Outreach and Recruitment

* Responsible for leading efforts to represent Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in the community, including involvement in developing outreach strategies.

* Organize and engage in travel to high schools, college fairs, and expos and conferences to build relationships with highly competitive applicants and encourage qualified applicants to apply.

* Build networks and generate leads in multiple counties to increase awareness of BSOM program offerings and services.

* Oversee outreach and recruitment events like open houses, Q&A sessions, info sessions, recruitment drives, etc., designed to matriculate diverse and qualified candidates to the BSOM.

* Develops and ensures admissions recruiting materials like the brochure, website, handouts, and other materials are current, informative, engaging, and available.

* Works with campus partners to implement, support, and maintain pipeline programs like the Early Assurance and Bridge programs.

* Serves as a point of contact for prospective students and provides admissions guidance, counseling, and general information

* Continuously evaluate outreach and recruitment efforts and propose and develop solutions to increase efficiency and reach more mission-fit prospective students

25% Coordinate Medical Student Selection Process

* Supports admissions interview days, selection meetings, and related activities.

* Conducts holistic application screening for applications to the Medical Doctor (M.D.) program at the Boonshoft School of Medicine as part of the Admissions Committee.

* Leads and organizes a sub-committee for admissions.

* Supports the processing of applications via Web Admit technology.

15% Student Engagement and Events

* Following established BSOM admissions processes and procedures, provides administrative support for the Director of Admissions, Admissions Committee Members, and the Office of Admissions student workers.

* Under the supervision of the Director, support student events such as 'closer look', orientation week, and convocation.

* Collaborate with DME, OSAA staff, BSOM faculty and other campus and community partners to plan and facilitate Admissions Department events.

* Perform benchmarking research of student programming at other higher education institutions.

* Design routine surveys to gauge student satisfaction and program effectiveness.

10% Support Compliance

* Provide documentation for LCME accreditation reports as requested.

* Maintains archive of data related to existing pipeline recruiting programs for the BSOM.

5% Other duties as assigned.
