Duties
This position is part of the US. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Office of the Chief Executive. As a Strategy Intern you will be responsible for helping to drive the agency's investment and portfolio strategy.
The Strategy Intern will:
* Establish what DFC's portfolios across markets, sectors, and regions should look like to maximize development impact and advance strategic priorities.
* Research and benchmark industry best practices, conduct in-depth research and analysis, and coordinate internally and with other relevant stakeholders including clients, peer DFIs, other agencies, and industry key opinion leaders.
* Identify key metrics and goals that should measure the success of our portfolio across financial, impact, and strategic measures, and then conduct in-depth modeling and analysis to measure those goals.
* Analyze the tactical and operational planning processes through which measures are established to assess DFC's accomplishments of its strategic objectives and provide data and recommendations in assessing the state of DFC program and policy operations.
* Analyze the development of timely and comprehensive plans which represent the most efficient and effective use of human, physical and financial resources, and work effectively with other offices to achieve common objectives and assure that allocated resources are efficiently deployed and productively utilized.
* Manage multiple projects at once across a diverse set of stakeholders to advance strategic priorities, working across DFC departments to operationalize DFC's strategy.

Qualifications
Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college or university in an undergraduate program. The ideal candidate would be currently enrolled in an MBA or masters degree in public policy or related field. Strong written, research and oral communication skills are required. Strong ability with programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Successful completion of a background investigation is also required.

If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.
GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
