Job description

About the Role:

Kalmbach Feeds, Inc. is looking for a reliable Inbound Freight Coordinator to help create trucking routes that keep costs down but meet customer and plants scheduling needs. The Coordinator will be responsible for creating orders, tendering freight to our network of carriers, and communicating with multiple internal teams for inbound ingredients. The successful candidate for this position needs to be able to adjust to last minute changes and work with drivers to schedule deliveries to the plants.

The Kalmbach Feeds Transportation team requires an extremely perceptive and detail-oriented person, who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels. As unique situations present themselves, the successful candidate must be sensitive to customer needs, corporate goals, team member goodwill, and the public image. The ideal candidate for this role will be able to fulfill the following:

* You are happy to work Monday - Friday and alternating Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon

* You should be comfortable with and available for being on call after hours, while having the flexibility to work from home, with some time in office weekly.

* You will report to the Transportation Operations Manager.

* You will work closely with company drivers, contract carrier drivers and our purchasing department.

* You will develop and oversee the daily schedule for drivers and maintain contact with them throughout the day.

* You will collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of plants.

* You will cultivate strong relationships with drivers and suppliers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes and other unexpected issues.

Who you are:

* You are seeking a hybrid work schedule, with some work from home flexibility, and some time in office weekly

* Possess High School Diploma or GED, Associates or Bachelor's degrees are a plus

* Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills

* Exhibit outstanding time management and organizational skills

* Possess ability to work autonomously with a sense of urgency

* Demonstrate ability to make decisions, exhibiting sound judgment

* Display ability to apply critical thinking skills to complex situations

* Exhibit effective investigation and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail

* Demonstrate a strong customer service orientation with internal and external customers

* Be available for on call hours

* Demonstrate solid skills in Windows based software programs-Word, Excel, PowerPoint

* Exhibit good data entry and typing skills

* Display ability to work in a team environment in high pressure situations

* Knowledge of DOT regulations is a plus.

* Must commute to the Kalmbach Transportation office located in Upper Sandusky, OH
