Brady Ware has an opening for a Staff Accountant seeking experience in both Tax and Audit. This position works as the foundation of our team and provides support on various engagements with our clients. As Staff Accountants gain experience and proficiency, they are given more difficult assignments and greater responsibility, and may also function as the engagement leader on smaller engagements.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of accounting and auditing standards/theory
  • Accurately and efficiently prepares partnership, S Corporation and individual tax returns and utilizes feedback to prevent repeating errors.
  • Prepares income tax projections and estimate calculations for clients.
  • Maintains and organizes client files in accordance with firm standards.
  • Clearly and adequately documents working papers.
  • Reviews data about material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income and expenditures in completing assigned sections.
  • Assist with financial audits to ensure that financial statements are fairly presented in accordance with GAAP utilizing firm audit approach.
  • Works with members of the engagement team to identify and resolve any client issues discovered during engagements.
  • Maintains open communication with engagement management regarding the progress of completion on projects.
  • Manages time effectively by completing projects within communicated budget/deadlines.
  • Participates actively in training and developmental opportunities.
  • Supports Interns in professional development.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree required, Master's preferred (150-hour requirement threshold should be satisfied or a specific plan in place)
  • Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements is required.
  • Actively studying and preparing for the CPA certification if not already obtained.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, proven time management and organizational skills.
  • Desire to learn to learn and meet new challenges.
  • Commitment to teamwork
