Team members in this role will support our government client's Applied Technology Lab including conducting training seminars related to Python data analysis techniques, system administration and driving/defining research projects and communicating results to the enterprise. This position requires hands on expertise and proficiency with Python and data analysis techniques with Python in addition to a diverse set of communications, strategy, technical, business, and creative skills that combine expertise in python analytical methodologies, software development and engineering.

ResponsibilitiesConsult on migration from legacy SAS implementations to Python based solutionsAnalyze raw data: assessing quality, cleansing, structuring for downstream processingGenerate actionable insights for business improvementsProvide consultative advice in emerging areas of Data Science, Data Visualization, Statistical Tools and Analytics (Python, R), in alignment to client goals and strategies.Assist in the design and develop prototypes and proofs-of-concept based on business area and IT needs on an as-needed basis

QualificationsUS Citizenship is requiredCandidates must be local to the metro Washington DC areaBachelor's or Master's degree mathematics, computer science, engineering, or related fieldAt least 4 years' of experience in quantitative analytics or data modelingDeep understanding of predictive modeling, machine-learning, clustering and classification techniques, and algorithmsFluency in a programming/scripting languages (Python, Java, SQL, R, SAS)Familiarity with Big Data frameworks and visualization tools (Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Power BI)
