Job Summary

Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will work with the accounting team to accurately prepare journal entries, record financial transactions, maintain reconciliations, and will be an integral part of the month end close process.The Staff Accountant will need a mix of accounting acumen, accuracy, detail orientation, dependability, and an exceptional customer service orientation.

Responsibilities include preparation and recording journal entries, bank reconciliations, maintenance of monthly close documentation, balance sheet account reconciliations and work with the A/P team to ensure accurate coding and accurate month end accruals.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enter a variety of monthly journal entries.
  • Appropriately document and record financial and accounting transactions.
  • Preparation of monthly account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and related reports.
  • Intercompany allocations.
  • Maintain adequate and effective internal controls and processes.
  • Recommend improvements in policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely responses to accounting related inquiries.
  • Complete monthly close responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the annual financial audit.
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or adjacent field.
  • CPA or CPA track preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting.
  • Skilled in GAAP.
  • Experience with accounting systems (MS Dynamics GP a plus)
  • High level of Excel skills, demonstrated ability to work with large volumes of data
  • Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product.
  • Accountable for delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional work ethic.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
