IDEAL ELECTRIC COMPANY, a 121-year-old, independent American manufacturer of high-power, specialty electric motors, generators, power systems and controls seeks an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician who is a highly organized self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined team environment with the ability to manage competing priorities to achieve company goals while upholding a culture of ethics, integrity, and excellence in everything we do. This position, based in our facility in Mansfield, Ohio plays a key role in the manufacture and delivery of Ideal's quality products and services.
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all electrical components and services throughout the facility are maintained in optimal working order.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Diagnose electrical performance difficulties, adjust and/or dismantle equipment as required to repair or replace defective part; reassemble equipment
Dismantle, clean, test, repair, connect, assemble, and lubricate electrical equipment such as motors, generators, power transmission, transformers, controls, and batteries to optimum performance
Repair electric power tools and equipment
Install conduit, circuit breaker panels, junction boxes, outlets, light fixtures, and similar electrical needs
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment in accordance with PM schedules
Repair, adjust, or replace overloads and limit and control switches
Install or replace light bulbs, fuses, and fixtures
Troubleshoot malfunctions in electronic circuitry
May operate a crane or forklift, or drive a company vehicle in the performance of duties
Ability to use the following: safety lockout, hand tools, portable power tools, pipe bender, pipe threader, a variety of electrical testing equipment including oscilloscope, cranes, and forklifts
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum three years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical machinery, equipment, and tools in a heavy manufacturing environment
Working knowledge and experience in basic electricity/electrical disciplines
Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
Technical literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite, and ERP and CRM software
Teamwork approach with excellent communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and time-management skills
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Electrical maintenance course training certifications or education in a related field preferred
Experience working with vendors in a B2B environment
WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURS
Daily minimum of 8 hours. Weekly 40 hour minimum
Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights
This position generally operates in the manufacturing areas of the facility
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, copiers/printers, and phones
