**Job Description**

In the Technical Sales Support role, you will act as the Pharma (Small Molecules) commercial technical liaison between our Business Development team, customer base, client services, and laboratory network (operations). Partnering with the regional Business Development team(s), you will collaborate with customers, client services, and laboratory site department heads to support and consult on project plans for contracted services.

The Technical Sales Support Specialist acts as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) and as a bridge between our commercial and laboratory teams; you will provide field technical support, advice, solutions, and resolutions where needed, and help to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

* Provide technical guidance to Business Development team(s) and customers on small molecules scientific processes and procedures and identification of appropriate execution sites within the North American Health Science Drug Development network

* Recognize and support potential small molecules testing business development opportunities, in collaboration with the small molecules commercial Business Development team(s), during technical interactions/presentations with the customer

* Provide technical support to business development including guidance for developing a strategic sales approach and analyzing potential client requirements; this would also include technical trainings

* Keep up to date with the latest technical and regulatory industry news and trends and communicate them to the Business Development team(s); represent SGS Health Science (Drug Development) at marketing-supported trade shows, congresses, and conferences

* Make sure that all necessary information is obtained from the customer in order to scope and provide an accurate quotation

* Ensure that the client fully understands and agrees with any technical / scientific approach to the work

* Help identify the appropriate location(s) for execution of the work and confirm availability of capacity and capabilities

* Provide support for solutions (internally and externally) if capacity and capabilities do not align with customer expectations

* Keep informed of any significant regulatory issues that may impact the work and ensure these are made known internally and externally

* Take part in customer kick-off meetings in the role of technical/scientific advisor SME / observer. You will act as the voice of the customer

* Make sure clear lines of communication between Business Development, the customer, and execution site(s) / operations are established and understood

* Be available for scientific/technical support, if necessary, during the execution of the work

**Qualifications**

* Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related science

* 5+ years experience working as a senior scientist in a lab environment OR

* Ph.D. in Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related science

* 3+ years experience working in the Pharmaceutical Industry

* 3+ years experience in a customer / client service contact position, preferably in a technical / sales / business development support role

* Experience in pharmaceutical analysis (small and/or large molecules) and project management

* Strong negotiation, communication, customer relation, and interpersonal skills

* Capable of multi-tasking in order to meet the required sample turn-around time and client satisfaction while working together with the Laboratory Managers on a regular basis
