Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer for a direct hire/permanent role in Gaithersburg, MD. This role will work collaboratively onsite/in the office Monday-Friday during normal business hours (there are no remote options).

In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop innovative technical hardware solutions for satellite and terrestrial communications systems. The areas of interest are high-speed digital hardware design, complex FPGA development, and circuit design utilizing mixed signal ASICs.
  • Involvement and contribution to different aspects of the product life cycle including concept, analysis, development, integration, qualification, acceptance, delivery, and maintenance.
  • Work effectively across multiple corporate functions including business, engineering, operations, and manufacturing
  • Involves selection and lab testing of components for new products.
  • Hands-on testing, validation, and optimization using lab equipment such as high-speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators.
  • Perform schematic capture and high speed signal integrity and power integrity analysis using CAD design software
  • Perform FPGA or board verification using Cadence simulation tools and FPGA vendor synthesis tools


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in product design including one or more of the following disciplines: High speed digital circuit design, FPGA design and simulation, digital signal processing in embedded devices, high speed interface design, SI and PI tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience with RF design, high speed ADC/DAC chips or FPGA SoC devices
  • Experience with embedded processors and DDR memory and high-speed digital interfaces
  • FPGA Design experience using Verilog or VHDL
  • Experience in design of digital systems for high quantity and high reliability
  • Knowledge of wireless communication systems and signal processing
  • Good working knowledge of communications theory
  • Great communication and teamwork skills
