Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer for a direct hire/permanent role in Gaithersburg, MD. This role will work collaboratively onsite/in the office Monday-Friday during normal business hours (there are no remote options).
In this role, you will:
Design and develop innovative technical hardware solutions for satellite and terrestrial communications systems. The areas of interest are high-speed digital hardware design, complex FPGA development, and circuit design utilizing mixed signal ASICs.
Involvement and contribution to different aspects of the product life cycle including concept, analysis, development, integration, qualification, acceptance, delivery, and maintenance.
Work effectively across multiple corporate functions including business, engineering, operations, and manufacturing
Involves selection and lab testing of components for new products.
Hands-on testing, validation, and optimization using lab equipment such as high-speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators.
Perform schematic capture and high speed signal integrity and power integrity analysis using CAD design software
Perform FPGA or board verification using Cadence simulation tools and FPGA vendor synthesis tools
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering or related technical field
5+ years of experience in product design including one or more of the following disciplines: High speed digital circuit design, FPGA design and simulation, digital signal processing in embedded devices, high speed interface design, SI and PI tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
Experience with RF design, high speed ADC/DAC chips or FPGA SoC devices
Experience with embedded processors and DDR memory and high-speed digital interfaces
FPGA Design experience using Verilog or VHDL
Experience in design of digital systems for high quantity and high reliability
Knowledge of wireless communication systems and signal processing
Good working knowledge of communications theory
Great communication and teamwork skills
