Columbus Hospitality Management , recognized for excellence as a Top Hotel Management Company by Hotel Management, is currently seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to join our team!

The Vice President of Human Resources is instrumental in ensuring our HR initiatives align with our company s overall vision, culture, and brand values, and in developing strategies and initiatives that strengthen the relationship between Human Resources and our support office, property leaders, and PEO partner. Our VP of HR is our senior trusted advisor and thought leader in the disciplines of human resources, compliance, benefit administration, recruitment, and retention. The Vice President of Human Resources drives cultural excellence and champions our company, initiatives, and people. Our VP of HR will have an inquisitive, investigative mindset that motivates them to discover new HR programs and beneficial technologies to contribute to over overall success; and will have the ability to see the big picture to concentrate on overall strategic goals, enjoy teamwork amongst a diverse group of hospitality leaders, and thrive in solving complex problems to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as an executive leader within the Columbus Hospitality Support Office and provides support to the organization by creating, aligning, and executing key business and people strategies, practices, and processes to ensure all CHM environments are productive and successful in achieving key business results, including sustained, profitable growth.
  • Engages with and invests in CHM Support Office and Property Leaders to continually improve our succession plans for executive and key leadership positions by driving efforts, such as building bench strength, our Big Leap philosophy, ongoing career development, and skills training.
  • Understands the needs of our businesses and effectively drives strategy in alignment with our company s growth plan focused on acquiring, growing, and developing our talent pipeline, meeting and reflecting the ever-changing needs of our Support Office, properties, and our portfolio of assets.
  • Directs the PEO Human Resources Relationship and provides relationship strategy and collaborative solutions to the CHM Senior Leadership Team and Property Leaders.
  • Directs Human Resources, Safety, and Compliance Audits for our portfolio of diverse assets and oversees reporting and action planning for the CHM Senior Leadership Team and our Property Leadership.
  • Oversees the recruitment and retention efforts of the CHM Support Office and select senior leadership positions.
  • Directly supervises Human Resources Support Office leadership team and acts as a primary or secondary supervisor to our Regional Directors of Human Resources and Regional Recruiters.
  • Displays executive presence by visiting and engaging frequently with our Property Leaders and associates and serves as the senior leader of talent management and team member engagement for the CHM organization.
  • Creates, implements, and facilitates robust training and networking opportunities for CHM s leadership, HR, and Recruiting team throughout the organization.
  • Develops strategy and initiatives that celebrate and ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion at Columbus Hospitality Management.
  • Sets the benchmark and ensures the level of hospitality associated with Columbus Hospitality Management exceeds owner, client, guest, leadership, and team member expectations.
  • Stays current on HR trends and best practices as well as employment laws and regulations and provides regular communication to our HR team and leadership.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Human Resources or related business field
  • 8+ years experience in a hospitality human resources management position in a fast-paced environment with multiple locations nationwide
  • SHRM Certification and/or HR Certification
  • Proficient in HRIS systems, including applicant tracking, timekeeping, and payroll systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong HR generalist and business partner skill set with deep functional knowledge in recruiting, HR compliance, benefits, change management, and organizational design.
  • Competency to multi-task and meet goals within set timeframe.
  • Creativity, driven, and a self-starter.
  • Works effectively with minimal supervision
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Engaged, invested, focused, and driven leader.

*Onsite position located in Columbus, Ohio Support Office.

Travel:

Local, regional, and national travel is required, resulting in overnight trips. This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver s license. The successful candidate will provide proof of a valid driver s license upon being hired.
