Marshal Middle School - Marshall, VA


Fauquier County Public Schools - Human Resources provides services to both Fauquier County Government and Fauquier County Public Schools. Role Description


This is a full-time on-site role as Principal of Marshall Middle School located in Marshall, VA. The Middle School Principal will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with leading and managing a middle school, including curriculum development, educational leadership, communication, and promoting a positive learning environment for students. The Middle School Principal will also collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure the success and well-being of all students.


GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:


Under the supervision of the superintendent, the Principal provides leadership for the school staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive educational program and instructional program in accordance with School Board policies and administrative regulations.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


Demonstrate ability to assume leadership in pursuing the mission, goals, and objectives of the school division and of the school's annual plan; demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills; demonstrate ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with school/community support groups; demonstrate appropriate use of written and verbal communication; demonstrate ability to adapt to change and maintain flexibility; demonstrate ability to address criticism in an appropriate manner and develop constructive outcomes; demonstrate leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers and parents; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


A Postgraduate Professional Certificate with appropriate administrative endorsement and experience; at least three years of successful fulltime experience as a teacher, administrator or supervisor, one (1) year of which is preferred to have been in the area or at the level to be supervised.
