A private company in the Washington DC area is seeking a Director of Finance/Comptroller to join our team. Serious applicants will be a Certified Public Accountant with a proven track record in financial accounting for social services, non profits, insurance, medical practices and healthcare,

The responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to :

• Demonstrates a keen understanding of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and is able to apply them consistently to the position..
• Manages and oversees the work of the accounting staff.
• Manages the general ledger posting entries accurately to the appropriate account/cost center.
• Performs bank reconciliation monthly.
• Prepares financial statements monthly and upon request.
• Prepares financial cost reports for Medicare and Medicaid.
• Prepares reports for tax reporting.
• Prepare reports for financial audits.
• Follows established finance and accounting policies and procedures.
• Pays vendors. timely and accurately.
