Join us for a rewarding career in the aviation industry!**Job Description**Our Wheelchair Attendant plays a vital role focused on assisting passengers with mobility challenges navigate through the airport. This position requires providing courteous and efficient service to ensure a comfortable and safe experience for passengers requiring wheelchair assistance. You will also be responsible for escorting passengers to and from various locations within the airport, such as gates, baggage claim areas, and connecting transportation. Also, the role involves handling wheelchairs and other mobility aids and providing information and assistance to passengers as needed.**WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK AS A WHEELCHAIR ATTENDANT**You like working as a team, toward a common goalSafely and comfortably lift disabled passengers with assistance from one mobility device to or from an aircraft seatPush wheelchair passengers to and from gatesCarry passengers' carry-on luggageAssist with checked and claimed luggageRoll customer-occupied wheelchair safely down the jet bridgeEnsure wheel brakes are in place prior to allowing passengers to exit the wheelchairComplete any necessary wheelchair or incident reportsYou have a great attention to detailYou enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasksLike to build long term relationships with your customersPhysical activity may include:Stand and walk for extended periods of timeAbility to lift 70 pounds or more and able to push a wheelchair with an adult in itBe able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environmentClose vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)**Qualifications**Minimum age of 18 years oldStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to physically assist and transport passengers in wheelchairsCommitment to providing excellent customer serviceComfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tabletsAbility to pass a drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
