Job Description

Questar Properties ( QPI ) develops luxury multi-family and mixed-use properties in the Mid-Atlantic region. QPI and its affiliates, Questar Builders, Inc. ( QBI ) and Questar Management, perform development, construction management/general contracting and property management services, respectively for the ownership entities. QPI currently owns 10 office, retail and luxury apartment rental properties in the Greater Baltimore Metro area, including downtown Baltimore s exciting 44 story 414 Light Street consisting of 394 luxury apartments and first floor retail. In 2024-2025, QPI expects to start construction on two new multifamily/mixed-use communities totaling approximately 700 luxury apartments. Additional development opportunities are also currently in the pre-development pipeline.

General Purpose of Job/Summary :

This position will report to the Controller of QPI and will also have exposure to QPI s other senior management. Below is a summary of the key responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing and maintaining the accuracy of monthly and annual financial reporting for the QPI and QBI portfolios.

Assist Controller with the year-end financial statement and audit process.

Assist Controller with QBI annual budget and reforecast preparation.

Monthly preparation of QBI bank reconciliations.

Monthly preparation of management fee calculations.

Prepare quarterly owners distribution analyses.

Job Costing review with monthly cost reporting for construction.

Preparation of monthly loan draws for construction projects.

Performs ad hoc financial analyses, on an as needed basis.

Update policies and procedures on as needed basis.

Education/Experience :

B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required.

Minimum 8 years of experience in Accounting with at least 5 years of experience in the real estate development and construction industry. Job experience with a leading multi-family development Company (who preferably has a general contractor affiliate), as well as solid knowledge of job costing.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

CPA certificate strongly preferred.

Technical Experience:

Strong knowledge of real estate accounting software packages required.

Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Excel required.

Experience with Yardi Voyager a plus.

Proficiency in financial modeling.

Other Skills/Requirements:

Strong analytical skills.

Strong problem solving skills coupled with the ability to effectively manage concurrent tasks within a rigid time schedule.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) required.

Ability to work with senior management as well as support personnel.

Real estate analytical skills: collect, interpret, organize and evaluate detailed lease, operating and financial data.

Ability to work independently.
