About the Role:

As a Deputy Project Manager supporting our Federal government client, you will assist the Task Order Manager in overseeing the contracting team. Your role will be pivotal in supporting the client's office in evaluating and analyzing policies and processes, resolving complex issues, facilitating strategic communications, business operations, strategic advisory, and coordinating meetings and events. This position holds a crucial function in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the client's office and contributes significantly to the project's success.

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
  • Quickly establish, develop, and foster positive rapport with federal government clients and partners in a professional, fast-paced, technical environment
  • Lead and manage the daily activities of the consulting team.
  • Identify program strengths and weaknesses, assist in impact assessment and metrics development, and support the execution of the client's priorities, goals, and objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage the logistics for the client's Bi-annual Leadership Offsite and other in-person meetings.
  • Participate and advise in the development of strategic planning, stakeholder management, process development, and critical analysis of technical concepts.
  • Apply project management techniques to support policy development, plans, schedules, and milestones.
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies
  • Drive the implementation of innovative initiatives
  • Develop presentations and white papers in support of business operations activities.
  • Provide recommendations for strategic changes leading to increased efficiency for staff.
  • Develop templates, process flow, and standard operating procedures that can be used to execute future events and engagements.
  • Work with key partners to ensure all external meetings and events follow the client's processes, policies, and procedures.
Location:

You will work as part of a hybrid team in the Washington, DC, metro area. With the expectation to work on the client site one day a week.

Required Experience/Skills:
  • A Bachelor's degree and 10 years of relevant professional experience.
    • A Master's Degree and 5 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of 10 years of experience.
  • Must have meeting and event planning experience and the ability to work collaboratively with key internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated project management experience to include policy development, plans, schedules, and milestones.
  • Previous stakeholder management experience
  • Expertise in analyzing and developing ROI metrics.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team to ensure a balanced workload
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance
Preferred Experience/Skills:
  • A PMP certification
  • Workforce development and training experience
  • Knowledge management and records management experience
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Familiarity with DHS processes, policies, and procedures.
