Position Purpose:

Position Purpose:
The position shall be responsible for assisting the Athletic Director in managing interscholastic junior high and high school level athletic programs as members of the South Middleton School District, Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) District III and the Mid Penn Conference.
Essential Functions:
- Supports the implementation of policies and procedures required by South Middleton School District, Mid-Penn Conference, PIAA, and other related governing bodies of interscholastic athletics.
- Assists the Athletic Director with developing athletic program schedules and securing transportation.
- Provides game-day management to ensure the following: game day staffing, emergency preparedness, ticket sales, monitoring facilities, monitoring safety/ security during athletic contests.
- Assists in the yearly review of athletic department policies.
- Supports the Athletic Director and key administrators in ensuring that all applicable laws and regulations relating to athletics are applied and followed.
- Works with the Athletic Director to initiate and follow up on maintenance and facilities requests.
- Assists in developing a robust website and publications presence for the purpose of maintaining real-time information and awareness of athletic department successes and engagement.
- Maintains professional relationship with media sources, internal and external constituents, student-athletes, coaches, faculty, support staff, and community members, etc.
- Assists in the upkeep of databases to include current team rosters, alumni, coaching staffs.
- Maintains alumni relations and supports coaches in alumni event planning and the Annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
- Responsible to carry out all other duties assigned by the Athletic Director and/or a district administrator.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of athletics and its importance in obtaining the Mission of the South Middleton School District.
- Knowledge of applicable district, federal and state laws and regulations regarding athletic programs, safety and health, and other areas under responsibility.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft word (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and additional software systems (Arbiter, Schedule Star, etc.).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to integrate collaboration and conflict resolution skills.
Experience
- The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in a high school and/ or college level athletic environment. Bachelor's degree required. Previous coaching experience is preferred.
