Interventionist Position Description

Under the direction of school leadership, the Interventionist will implement interventions in language, math, and work skills both inside and outside Montessori classrooms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Delivery of Pull-Out/Push-In Intervention Instruction:
  1. Works with Coach and other team members to identify areas of needed academic intervention in both pull-out/push-in scenarios.
  2. Develop schedules for academic intervention support for the primary team.
  3. Delivers direct instruction to students using Montessori materials and supplemental materials as needed.
  4. Meet with guides regularly to collaborate on the delivery of services.
  5. Observe the child in the environment on a regular basis to determine the appropriate supports for each student.
  6. Support classroom teams in implementing follow-up work from the intervention in the regular work period.
  7. Align work with school-wide ABAR principals and lessons (Anti-Racist/Anti-Bias Practices).


Data, Record Keeping, and Communication
  1. Maintain data for students in the Child Study Program.
  2. Complete all progress monitoring as required by Child Study Action Plans.
  3. Participate in all assessment-related training.
  4. Communicate progress monitoring data with all relevant parties.
  5. Maintain notes in Transparent Classroom.
  6. Collaborate with the Child Study Team to ensure progress notes are reaching parents.
  7. Serve as a member of the initial eligibility determination team for any student progressing to Tier 3 and being evaluated for consideration of special needs.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Training with the Montessori Method preferred.
  • At least 2 years experience working in education, preferably in a public or urban setting.
  • Demonstrates a willingness and ability to integrate data and assessment with traditional Montessori curriculum in order to close the achievement gap for our students.
  • Commitment to Lee's core values and ABAR principles (Anti-Racist/Anti-Bias practices).
  • Experience in individual and collaborative curriculum development.
