Overview:

InvestorPlace, one of the largest and fastest-growing financial publishers in the world with 10 million+ monthly readers and one of The Baltimore Suns Top Workplaces, is looking for an Editorial Assistant to join our exciting Luke Lango franchise. Our ideal Editorial Assistant will have an appetite for new and challenging opportunities in digital media, including newsletter publishing, blog posting, podcasting, and YouTube videos.

Youll work with a close-knit team of like-minded professionals, collaborating on key team drivers such as promoting the franchise services, developing our audiences across channels, and providing input on our myriad investment advisory services.

But primarily, youll help create and refine our free and paid copy. This includes articles for InvestorPlace.com, our daily e-letters, and paid fulfillment in the form of dailies, weeklies, and monthlies. Youll spend your time checking the facts, smoothing over coarse grammar, optimizing for style and voice, and ensuring content is edited and published in a timely manner.

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable experience in financial media, but all candidates with strong editorial experience will be considered. That is, wed love for you to come in with knowledge of the stock market and investing, but we wont turn you away if you have an enthusiasm for writing, editing, and making big ideas work.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide edits in a timely manner for copy ranging from 500 words to 5,000 words.
  • Post content to our paid and free sites.
  • Use basic HTML to build/edit e-mail templates.
  • Send content to our Broadcast team and test emails for quality and accuracy.
  • Assist with social media posts.
  • Respond to inquiries from our Member Services team.
  • Regularly update track records using Excel and Google spreadsheets.
  • Research trends, topics, and investments for both paid and free fulfillment.
  • Provide additional support for the Senior Managing Editor as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 0-3+ years of professional experience.
  • Demonstratable experience editing the written word.
  • Experience working with WordPress preferred, but not necessary.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with a team as well as independently.
  • Basic HTML knowledge.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Visual acuity for reading and using the computer
  • Ability to hear
  • Ability to freely move about the office
  • Ability to use the phone/computer/keyboard/mouse/general office equipment for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate with others in order to exchange information
  • Fluency in the English language
