Job Description:

Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems. Coordinates system development to include design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Guides the successful completion of major engineering programs may function in a project leadership role
  • Develops advanced solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problems
  • Perform advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end
  • Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
  • Provides and applies advanced engineering skills to highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Performs continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems
  • Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
  • Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes
  • Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and digital systems engineering
  • Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency
  • Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure
  • Implements, manages, and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools
  • Creates, maintains, and reviews Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Desired State Configuration (DSC) and/or Puppet configuration management tools to support the provisioning infrastructure
  • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance
  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
  • May serve as a team or task lead
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Windows, WSUS, SCCM, PureStorage systems, storage and backup concepts, VMWare products such as vSphere, VCenter, Horizon VD, ICDS solution, SNOW, senior level Windows AD and GPO
Minimum of Interim Secret Clearance and clearable to TS
Preferred Skills: Cisco enterprise hardware such as blade servers, next generation firewalls, and other networking components, enterprise services such as Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, SMTP, NTP, and PKI, hardening systems using DISA STIGS

The likely salary range for this position is $138,550 - $187,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
