Site Reliability Engineer

Job description

Azimuth Corporation is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer, in support of a government customer in Springfield, VA. The ideal candidate will create capabilities (pipelines, containers, auditing/monitoring, HA, SLO/SLA policy docs) and maintain existing capabilities for consumption/monitoring/sustainment.

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Sustain/improve existing HARLEM, MIQ, RLEWAN Monitoring App CI/CD pipelines. Patch and add features to HARLEM, ManageIQ (MIQ), RLEWAN Monitoring App as designated by the Product Owner.
Use existing Commercial Cloud Service (UC2S) Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines as guide to implementing like configuration on other domains/environments as designated by the Product Owner.
Implement and maintain RLEWAN Monitoring App plugins monitoring HPC and other system on prem resources.
Implement and maintain HARLEM, MIQ, RLEWAN Monitoring App on-prem components as designated by the Product Owner.
Provide and resolve on-premises related security relevant technical details during ATO of HARLEM, RLEWAN Monitoring Application, Kubernetes and their subcomponents.
Work with the Security Engineer to provide and resolve related security relevant technical details for security appliances.
Monitoring Application, Network Appliances and their subcomponents. Maintain CI/CD pipeline automating security and networking appliance configuration.
Sustain/improve security appliance configuration for HARLEM, MIQ, RLEWAN Monitoring App traffic
Assist/guide Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) with network related hardware tasks.
Develop, design and install hardware, software and open-source technology solutions into the RLEWAN and HARLEM framework.
Attend weekly team meetings. Attend monthly briefings with team leadership.
Work with and provide requested status to Task Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications
TS/SCI Clearance
BS Degree with 15 years' experience or MA/MS degree with 10 years' experience or PhD and 8 years of experience.
BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
General knowledge of most technical expertise areas, with deep knowledge in 2:

  1. Advanced Chef (syntax, recipes, cookbooks) and Ansible (syntax, tasks, playbooks)
  2. Advanced Terraform syntax and Gitlab, CI/CD configuration, pipelines, jobs.
  3. Advanced knowledge of cloud services.
  4. Kubernetes; clusters provisioning and new services.


Desired Qualifications

Experience submitting, monitoring, and ensuring completion of:
Size, Weight & Power requests to install computer hardware
Request for Security Impacts Determinations (SIDRs) or equivalent
Information Technology (IT) computer customer service requests
Firewall Change Requests (FCRs) for Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret Commercial Cloud Service
Interfaces (CLI) (1 year of experience)
Issue investigations and code reviews using GITLAB (name of a public domain (Internet) code storage and distribution service) website user interfaces.
Problem resolution report investigations using ThreadFix website user interfaces

Experience using and completing work and tasks using:
GITLAB continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines
Ansible (1 year of experience)
Terraform (1 year of experience)
Docker engine installation and administration (1 year of experience)
RLE High Power Computing command line interface tools (1 year of experience)

Experience administering and deploying:
Linux operating systems with Centos and Red Hat computers and networks (3 years of experience)
Baremetal (2 years of experience)

Physical Requirements / Travel
Must be able to work in an office environment at a desk and computer.
May travel ~10% to conferences, program reviews, industry meetings, or other collaborative events. Most or all travel would be CONUS.
