SR Human Resources Consultant

Job description

Smart HR, Inc is growing and is looking for key employees to complement our existing teams. The SR Human Resources Consultant role provides guidance and support to our business-owner clients and our internal team of experts. This person must demonstrate strong business acumen, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit with a genuine desire to proactively and consistently deliver results for our clients and internal teams.

We offer flexible work arrangements with part-time and full-time schedules. Consultants will work directly with our clients in developing & executing customized HR programs. Smart HR s client base includes a wide range of small to midsize companies & nonprofits in the Washington, DC metro area. Smart HR Consultants work onsite several days per week at our client's workplace and they do work remotely as well.

Responsibilities:

  • The ideal candidate will be results-focused, accountable, motivated and highly organized.
  • Ability to develop and manage all Human Resources functions
  • Implement Human Resources policies and procedures
  • Create and lead Human Resources Strategies
  • Ability to engage, inspire, and influence people at all levels of the organization
  • Thorough understanding of human resources principles and practices, including employment laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of HR metrics and ability to benchmark, measure, analyze and articulate the value of HR initiatives, practices and policies
  • Ability to become a trusted advisor to business owners
  • Expertise in HR Strategy with experience in Benefits Management, Performance Management, Orientation/Onboarding Programs, Recognition Programs, Organizational Effectiveness, HR Compliance Support, Compensation Benchmarking, Employment Policies, Employee Engagement Initiatives, and Professional Development


Qualifications:

This position requires a proactive, independent individual with strong quantitative and conceptual skills. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills and be able to function and succeed in many different environments.   • Bachelor s degree required (advanced HR degree a plus).
  • 8+ years of HR & business experience. Business acumen is as important as HR knowledge to be successful in this position.
  • Must possess consulting skills & be viewed as professional & knowledgeable by our clients.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills are required.
  • Computer & math skills are required (especially MS Excel & Word).
  • Demonstrated excellence in previous HR/Business endeavors.
  • Professional HR Certification is strongly desired (PHR or SPHR).
  • HR & business experience supporting small to midsize organizations.
