Starting Pay $26.76/hr

The Training Specialist will be responsible for conducting training across the organization and ensuring a high level of performance is delivered to our employees. The Training Specialist will network with staff across the organization who develop or conduct training and external vendors to assist in improving the overall quality of the training function. The Training Specialist will also oversee the logistics and coordination of training events.

  • Conducts Didlake developed training such as Introduction to Didlake, Disability Awareness, and Supervisor and Manager series.
  • Conducts other training as deemed necessary by the Director of Training.
  • Stays abreast of changing circumstances that may require updates to computer-based and in-person training. Recommends those changes to the Director of Training.
  • Assists in identifying training needs by working with department managers/supervisors and the Director of Training.
  • Assists the Director of Training in periodically auditing training courses to ensure other trainers are training in accordance with approved curricula and using appropriate instructional methods.
  • Assists other trainers across the organization and makes recommendations for improving curriculum and delivery.
  • Tracks employee surveys of training and monitors, adapts training and instructional methods and reports on feedback.
  • Assists the Director of training in identifying, reviewing, organizing, and developing training manuals, reference libraries, multimedia aids, and other educational materials as necessary.
  • Provide administrative support to the department, organize catering for events, maintain supplies, set up room for in-person training, coordinate required interpreters, including ASL and foreign languages, and process post-event paperwork.
  • Assists in maintaining and distributing all training calendars.
  • Maintains professional, appropriate conduct and decorum at all times.
  • Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.
  • Assists in developing content and delivering training for the Didlake Internship Program.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree with two (2) years of relevant training/development experience or High school diploma with four (4) years of relevant work experience in training/development.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to develop, present and conduct training programs and curricula; excellent written and verbal communications skills, excellent computer skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures; knowledge of employment laws, federal laws, Ability One, SCA requirements and human resources helpful.
  • Ability to project a positive and professional image to the public, coworkers, and Didlake clients.
  • Ability to interact effectively and supportively with people with disabilities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security badge clearance for various federal contract sites. Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
