Fundraising Event Planner

Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As the Event Planner / Fundraiser at Respite Retreats, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our fundraising activities and event planning efforts
  • Development Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the mission and programs of Respite Retreats
  • Identify new funding opportunities, cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors, and steward existing supporters to increase financial support for our organization
  • Event Planning and Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of fundraising events and campaigns, including galas, golf tournaments, dinners, parties, and community outreach programs
  • Manage all aspects of event logistics, from venue selection and vendor coordination to budget management, and securing sponsors and attendees
  • Fundraising Campaigns: Lead the development and execution of fundraising campaigns across various channels, including direct mail, online fundraising platforms, social media, and peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives
  • Create compelling messaging and content to inspire donations and engage our community of supporters
  • Donor Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundation supporters
  • Communicate the impact of their contributions and steward their support through personalized engagement and recognition efforts
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Supervise and mentor a team of development and event volunteers
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, where team members are empowered to contribute their skills and expertise to achieve fundraising goals




QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Fundraising, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, and event planning, with a proven track record of success in raising funds and organizing impactful events
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve fundraising goals and objectives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies and campaigns to support organizational growth and sustainability
  • Proficiency in fundraising software/tools, donor databases, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Passion for the mission and values of Respite Retreats, with a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families affected by cancer
