The Executive Branch & Federal Regulatory Affairs Director is responsible for translating our position and business objectives into government affairs strategies and actions. This role will serve as a recognized leader internally and externally within the federal regulatory arena. Directing and carrying out initiatives to advance our strategic objectives on federal regulatory issues is a key to success!

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Establishes and cultivates relationships with federal government leaders, policymakers, and regulatory agencies, meeting with them on a regular basis to represent our position on issues, influence relevant policies and regulations, and enhance our reputation
  • Engages federal officials, peers, and influencers to educate them about our industry and our business while cultivating strategic partnerships for the company
  • Provides updates to management on legislative and regulatory developments; assists with developing and translating our position; outlines mitigation or management responses
  • Leads company in trade association position development on federal policy issues
  • Coordinates and collaborates with colleagues across the federal, state, local, and public outreach team to achieve meaningful, measurable business impacts
  • Balances various projects/assignments simultaneously
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree; minimum eight (8) years' experience in federal regulatory affairs
  • Preferred: Master's degree; minimum of ten (10) years' experience in federal regulatory affairs
Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
  • Prior work on natural gas infrastructure projects
  • Previous experience working on trade associate committees and interdisciplinary teams
  • Previous experience presenting regulatory positions in industry and regulatory settings
  • Preferred: Extensive work on sophisticated infrastructure projects; leadership experience in trade association work and experience leading a team
