SIR is a 501(c)(6) professional association that supports more than 8,100 interventional radiology physicians, trainees, medical students, scientists and clinical professionals. SIR is also comprised of SIR's 501(c)(3) Foundation, which focuses on research and fundraising to advance the future of interventional radiology. Together SIR and SIR Foundation have nearly 50 staff, combined annual revenues of $10 million, and assets of nearly $17 million.


Position Summary:


We are hiring an Exhibit Sales Manager, who will lead all aspects of corporate participation in the society's portfolio of educational activities. Your expertise in exhibit, sponsorship and advertising management will be critical to your success in this role. The sales manager will direct and conduct opportunity pricing, revenue modeling, online marketplace development, prospecting, sales, logistical planning, implementation, and post activity reporting. This requires working independently and leading others; making decisions and taking actions to advance the strategic priorities and financial interest of the society. You will have direct impact everywhere corporate relations and education intersect, from strategy to sales, service and implementation. We don't exhibit at shows, we are the show!

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve budgeted revenue goals for SIR's educational activities through exhibit space and sponsorship sales.
  • Create compelling sales collateral (value propositions) and online exhibitor marketplaces (utilizing purpose-built software), to generate interest and align business objectives of companies engaged in the interventional radiology space.
  • Cultivate relationships for the society's corporate partners (both current and prospective) to maximize revenue potential.
  • Collaborate with marketing, internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth execution of exhibitions to provide exceptional customer service to exhibitors and sponsors.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of the meetings and exposition industry, communicate industry trends to staff and physician stakeholders.
  • Ensure all policies for corporate partners pertaining to engagement in society education programs are up to date and reflect best practices and account for compliance considerations.
  • Display high-level proficiency in business development; identify and research new exhibitor prospects and transition sales leads into SIR exhibitors.
  • Provide comprehensive on-site management as part of the successful fulfillment of sold exhibits, sponsorships and advertising.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated track record related to customer service, sales, team building, vendor management and conflict resolution, preferably related to exhibits management and meeting planning.
  • Proven proficiency in large-scale exhibit floor plan design and management.
  • Proven experience in communication, attention to detail, organizational skills, and data management.
  • Ability to develop budgets, monitor financial performance and update sales reports.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and CadmiumCD (or similar Exhibit Management software) including experience updating web pages and online processes preferred.
  • Proficiency with scheduling and convening video conference calls.
  • Expertise in meeting planning/logistics a plus.
  • Must be willing to travel to conferences and other activities related to position.

Education:

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced degree and/or certification in professional field preferred

Experience:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in related field
  • Prior project management experience
  • At least 2 years of experience leading a team, or managing others
  • Prior experience in association management preferred

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Small, fast paced open office environment with moderate noise levels. Use of phones and computers for extended periods of time. Utilize office equipment and communication technologies for conference calls and teleconference meetings/webinars. Requires general mobility to move through the facility. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Frequent interaction with internal staff and physician members/board via phone, in person, email and other mediums. Normal sitting and standing activities for an office environment. Some travel required to meetings at times lasting three to five days per trip.
