The MITRE Ft. Meade cyber work program is dedicated to crafting innovative solutions for our sponsors to defend the nation, gather intelligence, and project power in and through cyberspace. Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Staff Development Conduct ongoing, meaningful, and clear conversations with staff and their work leaders on staff assignments, role expectations, performance, feedback, and professional development; Identify and advocate for assignments that align to staff development goals; Identify and advocate for professional development or training opportunities for staff; and Mentor and coach staff.
  • Performance Management - Work in partnership with work leaders to assess staff performance and provide input to department leadership for annual rating and salary adjustments; Provide recognition to staff; and Manage challenging staff interpersonal dynamics, behavioral issues, and performance concerns if they arise.
  • Provide proactive and highly responsive leadership, management, and advocacy to staff.
  • Work closely with the Department Manager and members of the leadership team to develop and execute the department's mission, vision, strategy, goals, and objectives.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent
  • Work in partnership with employees and MITRE Project Leaders to match staff member talents to project needs.
  • Solicit and provide regular feedback from project leaders and to employee(s) throughout the year to discuss employee performance and determine if actions or a conversation are needed (e.g., recognition, development, coaching, and performance improvement, conversations)
  • Work with leadership and technical staff to ensure a culture of excellence, teamwork, staff development, continuous learning, and innovation.
  • Contribute technically to one or more MITRE projects.
  • Represent staff to Department and Division Leadership in the areas of staff performance and professional development needs
  • Make recommendations to DM for development and promotional opportunities for their employees.
  • Provide input and recommendations to the DM, for assessment of annual impactful goals and associated rewards for direct reports.
  • Facilitate professional development through leadership, coaching, mentoring, and communication.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor s degree; or 6 years and a Master s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience
  • Possess a current/active US Government TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC, presentation, and communications skills
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders
