Position Summary

Second-in-command pilots (SICs) are pilots aboard Metrea Strategic Mobility's (MSM) KC-135 tanker aircraft.

Essential Functions Statements

* Work well with a crew of 3 while responding to a variety of emergency and non-emergency scenarios.

* Conduct procedurally correct and expeditious pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections, checklists, and documentation.

* Maintain Situational Awareness (SA) and use Crew Resource Management (CRM) throughout all phases of flight.

* Adhere to company Flight Operation Procedures (FOPs), Ground Operation Procedures (GOPs), FAA regulations, and Safety Notices.

* Maintain all currencies, qualifications, and advanced systems knowledge related to the MSM KC-135 tanker fleet.

Competency Statements

* Set a high standard for providing our customers with world-class air refueling.

* Must have the ability to travel at least 7 days per month.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates inside a KC-135.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with varying working hours to meet the US government customer requirements, department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

Travel

Travel requirements a minimum of 7 days per month

Required Education, Experience, and Certificates

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

* 15 hours in KC-135 Aircraft

* 1000 total hours (with the military conversion rate of 1 military hour equal to 1.2 civilian hours)

* KC-135 MPRS Experience

Computer Skills: Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite Programs

Certificates:

* ATP or Commercial Pilot Certificate with B-707 and B-720 Type Ratings

* Instrument Rating

* Current and qualified KC-135R Pilot

* Minimum of FAA Flying Class 2 Physical

* Current US Passport

* FCC Radiotelegraph Operators Permit

*

Preferred Education, Experience, and Certificates

US Air Force Instrument/Qualification, KC-135 check-ride in the last year

* Bachelor's Degree

* US Air Force Instrument/Qualification, KC-135 check-ride in the previous 12 months

* KC-135 Block 30 experience

* KC-135 MPRS experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance.

Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

The employee must be a US citizen.

The employee must be able to hold and maintain a Secret (or higher) Clearance Level.
