The Graphic Design Intern is a temporary, entry-level support position, generally a student or recent college graduate, responsible for the design, layout, and formatting of materials. The Graphic Design Intern supports various internal team members by designing and performing production-level design tasks while learning and applying basic design principles.
As a Creative team member, the Graphic Design Intern gains exposure to department projects and initiatives and learns from accomplished professionals in graphic design, digital design, and marketing communications.

Learns how the Graphcom team maintains, translates, and extends the look and feel of digital and print-related marketing projects
Applies and contributes to Graphcom's goal of providing superior service to all organizations and people we meet, including customers, vendors, suppliers, co-workers, and the public
Works with other designers to develop, design, or create new ideas, relationships, systems, or products
Observes, receives, and otherwise obtains information from all relevant sources
Works closely with Art Director or other senior staff to organize, plan, and prioritize work by developing specific goals and plans
Consistently delivers high-quality services to all clients
Ensures user friendliness in digital projects, including web design, email, app design, etc.
Develops and implements design language
Works closely with Art Director or senior staff to manage resources within budget and project schedule
Conceptualizes and develops artwork following brand guidelines, including applying proper typography techniques, fonts, and layouts using design software
Researches, develops, presents, and executes photography campaign direction
Makes edits as requested by the client
Checks all work for spelling errors and has a second set of eyes review work before sending for client review
Provides write-ups to team members to sell design to the client
Maintains brand standards and upholds creative excellence
Personally accountable for the accuracy of all final art, including trim, bleed, crop marks, size, color setting, etc.
Annual review of job description
Maintains the highest level of security and confidentiality as defined by company policy
Other duties as assigned by the VP, Creative, Creative Director, or President/CEO
Minimum Job Requirements
Attendance at or graduation from a 4-year college with a degree in a related field and/or Associate's Degree in Graphic Design is preferred.
0-1 year of relevant design experience
Design ability and proficiency in software applications such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Microsoft Suite is required.
Web design and photography skills are a plus.
Strong sense of concept development
Excellent interpersonal skills
Self-starter willing to learn, develop, and polish the skills needed to succeed in a creative agency environment (problem-solving, presentation, project management, etc.)
In-person attendance required
Complete all required training courses upon hire and annually thereafter
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
