Job description

Zimmerman Associates, Inc. (ZAI) is seeking to hire a Interlibrary Loan/Information Desk Specialist in the Washington, D.C. area.

Duties:

* Provide desk coverage at the Library's Information Desk and assist walk-in clients with basic requests.

* Manage incoming inquiries in the library tracking system (RefTracker) or service email accounts, act as the first-tier support for the clients' requests, and properly allocate complex ones to the second-tier librarians.

* Process interlibrary loan requests through OCLC's WorldShare. If requests can't be fulfilled in OCLC, search other sources such as academic or government websites. For journal articles, check and order items from commercial document delivery services.

* Manage the relationship with other institutions for ILL activities, including establishing due dates and any other requirements from suppliers, sending item to the client with the due date and return information, renewing items if requested by clients, if permitted by suppliers, and sending claims for overdue items.

* Return items to lending libraries as required.

* Maintain and report monthly ILL statistics.

* Monitor the Library's main email box.
