Summary

The Regional Retail Manager is responsible for the effective performance of full-service branches within his or her assigned region, including operations, production, client service, training, security, and safety in accordance with the bank's objectives. He or she promotes our sales and service culture through coaching and staff motivation. The Regional Retail Manager leads in achieving individual, branch, regional and bank-wide goals through new business development, referrals, and retention of account relationships. He or she serves as an ambassador of our bank's mission, vision, and values. The Regional Retail Manager provides leadership, accountability, encouragement and training to branch managers and teams in the pursuit of our bank's core purpose.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Principal Responsibilities

  • Mentor, coach and support Branch Managers, helping them to be successful and fulfilled producers and leaders.
  • Collaborate with Chief Retail Banking Officer to establish and achieve meaningful production goals, complete retail initiatives, maintain uniformity of bank-wide best-practices and contribute to retail division long term growth and efficiency.
  • Maintain effective, positive relationships with branch managers and other staff by consistent in-branch visits, phone calls and email correspondence.
  • Recognize and reward behaviors, attitudes and results which contribute to our company's success.
  • Maintain on-going recruiting relationships resulting in the hire of skilled employee candidates in order to build and sustain strong branch teams.
  • Oversee and support regional branch budgeting process.
  • Provide leadership, accountability, and support to Branch Managers in completion of the annual business plans.
  • Effectively complete assigned performance appraisals and support branch supervisors in this process
  • Monitor and maintain regional branch FTE targets.
  • Coordinate effective staff coverage within region.
  • Provide accountability and support to Retail Lending in loan risk management and problem loan resolution.
  • Work with Retail Operations and other department leads to assess, create, and develop new bank efficiencies, products, or procedures.
  • Respond effectively to escalated client questions, suggestions, concerns, and complaints.
  • Insure appropriate Bank representation at certain regional community events as well as on-going leadership through civic and community organization involvement.
  • Plan, organize and deliver effective retail meetings and other training, as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Management

Sales Leadership

  • Maintains a Monthly Sales Plan with the Branches to include outside calls (including "cold calling") on prospects/clients. Encourages the Branch Manager and staff to participate in civic, government, professional, business and community affairs, associations, and groups within all market areas to solicit and develop new consumer and small business households for the branch. Coaches to promote BCT's positive public image in the community.
  • Accompanies Branch Managers, Business Development Officers (Cash Management Officer, Commercial/Mortgage Lenders) on calls with current/prospect clients to enhance BCT relationships.
  • Supports team sales process by coaching the Branch Team for opportunities to identify and refer client needs to other lines of business, including but not limited to, retail loan, mortgage, investments, small business, merchant services, and other areas and attains individual, department and Bank goals through participation in sales management and office calling program.
  • Coach and encourage team participation in team sales efforts such as sales meetings, business networking, etc.
  • Coach team members to employ BCT's supported sales techniques and processes whenever possible to better serve the client and Bank.

  • Maintains neat and orderly work area and ensures that all negotiables and confidential records are properly secured each day.
  • Understands role in case of robbery, whether victim or bystander, and knows proper post-robbery procedures.
  • Exhibits professional appearance that evokes the client's trust.
  • Adheres to all bank policies and procedures and to internal controls and system access restrictions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Branch Client Sales unit. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, or commensurate education
  • 8 years of progressive branch management
  • Familiarity with all retail banking products

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

  • Excellent organizational, time management and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to present and cross-sell all Bank products and services with confidence and authority.
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge/use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to work with no supervision while performing her/his assigned duties.
