Overview

Nakupuna Consulting is seeking to hire a Logistician - Assistant Project Manager to work as a member of the project management team. The Logistician - Assistant Project Manager will oversee purchasing, transportation, inventory, warehousing, and disbursement of material in support of technology installation teams. Responsibilities

The following reflects management s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Specific duties include:

  • Planning, coordinating, and integrating logistics and lifecycle support into the Planning, Operations, and Advisory efforts to complete the hardware refresh efforts within Software-Defined Wide Area Network. The effort shall be conducted as an integral part of the equipment procurement, hardware hardening, equipment staging, shipping, replacing, tracking, and disposing of idle legacy hardware assets
  • Coordinating all staging, shipping, and tracking of IT assets with Government Logisticians or IT Asset Managers
  • Appropriately tagging new equipment in accordance with MIL-STD 130 and provide the Government with a completed Asset Shipping Report (ASR) and Form DD1149 for all new equipment delivered under this contract
  • Creating and coordinating a turnover equipment schedule with the gaining site/ location and perform a serialized item by item inventory
  • Developing and delivering a final Material and Equipment List
  • Developing an Item Unique Identification (IUID) Plan and implement specific IUID markings, in accordance with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 252.###-####, DFARS 252.###-####, and MIL-STD-130N
  • Creating IUID Asset Tags to support the Government s effort of IT Asset lifecycle management, as required
  • Performing on site physical inspections of existing equipment, collect key documentation, information, and data
  • Working with the project team, lead the development of a bill of material (BOM) for the government customer
  • Providing recommendations to the Program Manager and government customer for procurement strategy, provide notice of industry trends that could impact service delivery
  • Developing and managing vendor relationships. Negotiate preferred pricing
  • Monitoring and communicating real-time status updates to company leadership and government customers
  • Receiving and managing inventory of all material. Ensure installation teams are properly equipped to execute their tasks. Maintain a chain of custody of material
  • Developing and documenting logistics standard operating procedures (SOP) so they are repeatable and scalable
  • Ensuring the Government-provided Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and other asset management requirements are accurate and current by collecting, processing, and reporting on the configuration data for all Configuration Items (CI) at any given time
  • Maintaining and turning over all warranty documentation, safety data sheets, and applicable supporting documentation for installed materials
  • Assisting Nakupuna s Program Manager and Senior Technology Specialist as required to prepare required documentation, deliverables, or other duties as assigned
  • Assisting in the creation of complex and professional documents that communicate project QA/QC requirements to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Participating in team meetings, client, and milestone meetings; maintain ongoing awareness of project status
Qualifications

Must have proven leadership with management and organizational skills, self-motivated, have strong attention to detail, good oral and written communication skills. Computer competency is mandatory for this position.

Education and Experience: This position desires a bachelor s degree from an accredited institution or years equivalent experience.

The following are required:

  • 5 Years of Inventory Management within the DoD.
  • 5 Years of experience in managing the logistics lifecycle of equipment, including procurement, staging, tagging, and disposal.

Additionally, Professional Logistician Certification is desired.

Clearance Requirements: This position requires an active TOP SECRET security clearance, with the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Information . Must be a U.S. citizen.

Travel Requirements: Ability and willingness to travel to Government Installations up to 30% of the time.

Work Location: Work is performed in a hybrid support manner at the Nakupuna Offices in Arlington VA, client site in Arlington VA and Oakton, VA. Core work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, arriving no earlier than 6:30 AM and departing no later than 6:30 PM Monday thru Friday except Federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
