Job description

DESCRIPTION: The DC Rape Crisis Center (DCRCC) is one of

the country s first rape crisis centers. DCRCC provides trauma focused services

through an anti-oppressive lens. Beyond providing therapeutic support to

survivors, the DC Rape Crisis Center consciously works towards building a

consent based society.

REPORTING/AUTHORITY: Trauma

Therapist is supervised by the Director of Clinical and Advocacy Services.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Provides

direct mental health services to clients who have experienced sexual trauma.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Duties

  • Provide trauma focused and culturally responsive,
  • crisis, individual, and group counseling for survivors of sexual trauma
  • and crisis counseling as needed
  • Maintain caseload of individual clients
  • Facilitate intakes as needed
  • Serve as hotline advocate and provide back up coverage as needed
  • Implement trainings to professional groups and
  • organizations
  • Develop and modify group curriculums as needed

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain individual and department goals,
  • activity metrics and key performance indicators
  • Collect, analyze and complete data reporting in
  • alignment with requirements for both agency and funders
  • Complete administrative paperwork in a timely
  • fashion and maintains client records
  • Attend internal and external meetings with staff and community
  • stakeholders
  • Conduct outreach to groups, individuals and
  • organizations in the community to increase usage of Center services
  • Promote, support and demonstrate DCRCC s mission,
  • vision and values through both behavior and job performance and adhere to
  • policies, procedures, and standards on a day to day basis
  • Other duties as
  • assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker or
  • Professional Counselor in D.C.
  • Proficient knowledge of issues of sexual trauma
  • and racial injustice
  • Experience with varying theoretical intervention
  • models including developmental, attachment and crisis intervention
  • Proven experience with trauma informed counseling
  • Demonstrates cultural competency in working with
  • a diverse population
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • in a team environment
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of database management systems
  • Must pass Child Protection Registry clearance and
  • criminal background check
