Job description

Overview:

Nakupuna Consulting is looking to hire a Business Analyst to support the Department of the Navy (DON)s Performance Improvement Office. This position will support the Business Transformation (BT) and Secretariat Priority Assignments (SPA) workstreams. The ideal candidate is a skillful writer and analyst, self-starter, and quick learner that has experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) high-level officials.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior leadership to gather requirements and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to develop key annual reports for the DON.
  • Support the development of presentations and briefings, strategic outreach, stakeholder engagement, and reports on Performance Measures. Design and document new processes, propose modifications to existing ones, and obtain organizational feedback.
  • Capture stakeholder and SME feedback on Performance Measures and support functional requirement-gathering for data visualizations.
  • Contribute to and lead the assessment of organizational performance and metric development for evaluation. Ensure alignment of metrics with strategic goals.
  • Support working groups by maintaining communication and collaboration with partner offices. Meet with subject matter experts to gather information and requirements.
  • Communicate process flows or requirements for software development efforts or procedural training.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs, formulating systems to parallel business strategies.
  • Digest a large amount of technical information and translate into language for a non-technical audience.
  • Have familiarity with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the available knowledge management platforms in the Department of the Navy (DON) and OPNAV (e.g., Flank Speed, MSFT SharePoint, MS Teams, Power BI).


Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of DoD organization(s)preferably Navystructure, leadership, culture, and how to affect change in this environment.
  • Comfortable working with senior leaders and demonstrated analytical writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and comfort serving as a top-level contributor/specialist.
  • Ability to produce briefing slides, metric charts, program schedules, and organizational charts.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Teams.

Education and Experience: This position requires a minimum of three years of demonstrated analytical experience in a client environment. A Bachelors degree is highly preferred.

Clearance Requirements: This position requires an active SECRET security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Work Location: Work is performed on government site at the Pentagon and via telework. Employees will work in close proximity with Government personnel.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
