Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead our Commercial Architecture & Software Engineering team. This role may be located in Arlington, VA, Seattle, WA, Seal Beach, CA, Huntington Beach, CA, Long Beach, CA or Ridley Park, PA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization.

This team works closely with the Product Management & Technology Solutions organization to develop the Learner Solutions, Training Management Solutions, Learning Infrastructure, Early Career and Core Systems software products required to support the BGS Training Solutions capability (Training Safety Initiative, Commercial Services P&L and BCA Fleet Support).

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and ensure alignment with Enterprise Design Practices related to digital product development
  • Develop and maintain software engineering standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure technical quality is built-in throughout the product lifecycle management process
  • Engage with external teams to ensure alignment and integration with key enabling capabilities and functions (e.g., Software Engineering Function, Fit-For-Use Process, MDM Onboarding, eCommerce and customer facing portals)
  • Serve as the customer voice and advocate in technology discussions and decisions
  • Communicate and champion the long-range Training Solutions software engineering strategy and roadmap
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with product teams to ensure a shared vision and strategy
  • Define and monitor appropriate metrics and key performance indicators to measure performance to goals
  • Lead meetings with business leaders to establish priorities, communicate process & progress of current projects and discuss analysis findings
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Manage, motivate and provide developmental opportunities for employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technical degree
  • 5 years experience in a software development leadership role
  • 5 years experience developing strategic technology roadmaps or plans

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Demonstrable experience leading large scale, global software engineering teams performing work on complex customer-facing capabilities to deliver successful outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement large scale strategic organization improvement initiatives including software engineering best practices, global workforce strategies and enduring technology strategies/roadmaps
  • Successful track record of recruiting, leading, motivating, and inspiring global teams to accomplish results by working together effectively to deliver results
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures that typically affect organizational units
  • Experience interacting with senior leaders or executives concerning matters of significance to the business unit
  • Prior experience directly leading software engineering organizations and daily operations to produce products and services

Summary pay range for Experienced: $191,250.00 - $258,750.00
