Job description

Hearing Associates of Northern Virginia is seeking our newest team member, a FT or PT audiologist for our small, but busy, private practice in McLean, VA The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, passionate about audiology and helping people to hear better. Doctor of Audiology required.

Position Summary:

The audiologist is responsible for administering diagnostic audiological tests that allow the differentiation between different types of hearing disorders. The audiologist will provide hearing aid testing, selection, and fitting, to our mostly adult population, but including occasionally school-aged children. The audiologist counsels patients regarding test results and reviews which options best meet their hearing care needs. The audiologist develops a treatment plan based on diagnostic test results, considering the individual's lifestyle and communication needs.

Primary Job Functions:

* Perform audiological evaluations, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing, acoustic reflex decay testing, and ETD.

* Provide amplification services including hearing aid assessment and presentation of audiograms.

* Completes chart notes for each patient seen.

* Writes reports for each evaluation in preparation for interdisciplinary cooperation, and expects to communicate, when necessary, with patients' other medical providers.

* Makes recommendations regarding hearing care options, including hearing aids and cochlear implants, and sees that through with hearing aid sales and service, or cochlear implant evaluation/process.

* Provides hearing aid dispensing, including selection, fitting, and verification through Real Ear Measurements

* Demonstrates and offers for sale Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) and other accessories.

* Performs hearing aid repairs, clean and checks, and assists customers with exchanges or returns as needed.

* Maintains a standard of regular two week follow up with patient after fitting, and regular six month schedule of recommended checkups.

* Performs cochlear implant evaluations, activations, and follow up care.

Operational Functions:

* Maintain ongoing communication with Owners, regarding business activities

* Work with marketing manager and execution of marketing activities.

* Submit orders to manufacturers.

* Order and maintain hearing aid supplies for equipment/hearing aid cleaning

* Updates tracking information to measure performance.

* Participate in community outreach programs.

* Complete state required Continued Education Units (CEUs).

Product/Industry Knowledge:

* Stay current with emerging technology, techniques, and best business practices by attending professional conferences and/or manufacturing sponsored training events, as possible.

Miscellaneous Duties:

* Maintains positive relationship with coworkers and professional colleagues/vendors.

* Provides excellent customer service and maintains good public relations.

* Shares administrative duties with colleagues as needed.

* Practices good safety and infection control.

* Exercises confidentiality as it relates to business and patient information.
