This position will report to a Regional Metalworking Sales Manager and will work in coordination with multiple OSAs, BSMs, inside branch teams, and multiple support personnel within the MSC organization.The position will also coordinate and utilize supplier resources to achieve targeted goals.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports achievement of metalworking (MW) sales and gross margin goals for the geographical area of responsibility.
  • Drives accelerated MW sales growth within identified MW Impact Accounts.
  • Supports Competitive Advantage Program (CAP) customers to deliver MW growth, achievement of cost savings goals and assist in the achievement of branch CAP signings.
  • Maintains a MW Opportunity Funnel to track progress and success on MW Growth activities.
  • Provides technical support for metalworking application opportunities to OSA's and MW OSA's (FSRs).
  • Coordinates local supplier support for tool testing opportunities in support of OSA's and MW OSA's (FSRs).
  • Assists Market Manager's and BSM's as needed in coordinating supplier involvement in market or branch meetings.
  • Provides cross functional feedback related to supplier performance and support strategic supplier initiatives driven by the Product Team
  • Provides local private label technical and brand support in the field.
  • Acts as a role model for MW specialists and consistently demonstrate MSC values and financial achievement.
  • Recognized as a leader within their market and amongst peers in providing leadership to other associates within MSC.
  • May act as a lead by coaching, mentoring, and directing work as directed by management.
  • Consistently demonstrated best practices related to Cost Savings, MW Applications and company culture.
  • Participates in or serves in a leadership role on company special projects or initiatives.
  • Supports cross territory technical support as needed.
  • Provides input in the development of MW training initiatives as requested.
  • Works closely with Market Management and Branch Sales Management in the development of their MW growth plans.
  • Supports the MSC Culture within all the undertakings of internal and external customer engagement to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC's mission.
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years as Metalworking Tooling Application Engineer, or minimum of 2 years working as a MSC Metalworking Specialist required.
  • Previous sales experience with either a distributor or metalworking manufacturer is preferred.
  • Previous experience with machining productivity improvements and cost savings initiatives is preferred.
  • Well rounded proficiency across broad range of metalworking applications is preferred.


SKILLS:

  • Ability to communicate comfortably at the corporate level.
  • Ability to lead a team of Metalworking Specialists.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of generating documented cost savings.
  • Solid track record of completing all required reporting documents in a timely and detailed fashion
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Programs.


MISCELLANEOUS:

  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel are required.
