Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with an extensive background in the Power Distribution and/or Construction Industries. Candidates with experience in the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) industry are also encouraged to apply. This is a Senior/Lead role focusing on mechanical design while managing and overseeing a team of drafters and other staff. The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, preferably in MD or VA, but we will also consider candidates with P.E. licenses in PA, NJ, or NC.

Work Authorization: This Position requires the Ability to obtain a DoD US Govt. Secret Security Clearance (Due to the Rules and Regulations and Requirements from the US Govt and our Client - Candidates must be able to provide proof of US Citizenship or US Govt Permanent Resident - If Candidates already have an Active Secret Clearance then great!)

Mechanical Design Leadership:

Lead and manage the mechanical design process for various projects within the power distribution, construction, and MEP sectors.

Develop innovative mechanical solutions and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Provide technical expertise and guidance in mechanical design and project execution.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement:

Maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing exceptional service.

Present technical information and project updates to clients and stakeholders effectively.

Respond to client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Skills / Qualifications
      Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in mechanical design within the power distribution, construction, and/or MEP industries.

    • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).
    • Strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    • Leadership and Communication:
    • Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and clients.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
